Creating a Robot to compete on a game board

The goal of the class was to design a robot to score points on a game board.  Using a combination of motors and a variety of materials I designed a scissor lift mechanism to place a flag on the highest point of the board, the steeple of the church.

The processes and materials available to us included milling, turning, water-jetting, laser cutting, 3D-printing, arduinos, microcontrollers, various actuators, aluminum stock, sheet metal, and delrin.

As my first design class, it taught me a lot about how not to build something! Many of the mistakes I made while designing and fabricating this robot made me a better engineer and saved me a lot of time in my future projects.
